Installation and Setupβ
To get started with StayAwake:
- Download StayAwake from https://github.com/msander1983/StayAwakeRelease/raw/refs/heads/main/StayAwake-Installer.exe.
- Install the application by running the installer and following the on-screen instructions.
- Activate the StayAwake license by entering your license key.
Activating StayAwakeβ
After purchasing a license:
- Right-click the StayAwake icon in the system tray.
- Select Enter License.
- Enter your license key in the prompt.
- Click OK to activate StayAwake.
Getting Startedβ
Once StayAwake is installed and activated, it runs quietly in the background, accessible from the system tray.

- Right-click the StayAwake icon in the system tray.
- Select Settings.

Toggling Awake Mode:
- Double-click the StayAwake icon in the system tray to activate or deactivate Awake mode.
Using StayAwakeβ
Preventing Sleep Modeβ
StayAwake simulates mouse movements to prevent your computer from entering sleep mode.
- Activate Awake Mode: Double-click the StayAwake icon in the system tray.
- The icon changes to indicate that Awake mode is active.
Configuring Mouse Movement Intervalβ
Set how often StayAwake simulates mouse movement.
- Open Settings.
- Under Move cursor every (minutes), select the desired interval (default is 4 minutes).
Setting Maximum Active Hoursβ
Limit the duration StayAwake remains active.
- Open Settings.
- Under Stay awake for at most (hours), enter the maximum number of hours (default is 8 hours).
- Check Enable "Stay awake for at most (hours)" to activate this setting.
Setting a Cutoff Hourβ
Define a time after which StayAwake will not activate.
- Open Settings.
- Under Stay awake at most until (hh:mm), select the cutoff time (e.g., 19:00).
- Check Enable "Stay awake at most until (hh:mm)" to activate this setting.
Configuring Battery Percentage Cutoffβ
Prevent StayAwake from running when the battery reaches a specified percentage.
- Open Settings.
- Under Disable the app when the battery percentage reaches, set the battery percentage (default is 20%).
Enabling Scrollingβ
Simulate scroll actions to prevent inactivity in applications that require scroll input.
- Open Settings.
- Check Enable Scrolling (auto-scrolls e.g., documents) to enable this feature.
Important Notesβ
- Power Management: StayAwake prevents sleep mode. Adjust your power settings to manage energy consumption.
- Security: Manually lock your computer when needed, as StayAwake prevents automatic locking or logging out. If StayAwake was active when you locked your computer, it will keep running.
- Battery Usage: Monitor battery levels during extended use. StayAwake can disable itself when the battery reaches a specified percentage.

StayAwake Isn't Working as Expectedβ
- Check Activation: Ensure that Awake mode is active by verifying the icon in the system tray.
- Verify Settings: Confirm that settings like Cutoff Hour and Battery Percentage Cutoff are configured correctly.
- License Validation: Ensure your license is valid and has been correctly activated.
